The study examines good governance as a panacea for service delivery in Nigeria. The objective of the study focuses on the influence of good governance in service delivery in the educational sector, health service, power sector and economic sector. Six (6) local government councils were randomly selected. This study employed a survey research design by administering structured questionnaires to two-hundred respondents randomly sampled from Ovia North East, Ovia South West, Egor, Oredo, Ikpoba Ohka and Uhunmwonde local Government Area of Edo State. The study employed Pearson correlation matrix, ordinary least square (OLS) regression and Cronbach alpha test to test the reliability of the instrument. The empirical findings showed that quality service delivery in the area of manpower development/educational sector was statistically significant at 1% level of significance while service delivery in the health sector was negative but statistically significant at 5% level of significance. The results also show that service delivery in the power sector and the economic sector was negative but statistically insignificant. The study therefore recommends that good governance should be based on equality in the distribution of resources among the sectors of the economy. It is therefore suggested that good governance should be demonstrated in the area of human capital development in terms of recruitment, training and welfare packages.
