Development of Transport Infrastructure and Service Delivery for a New Nigeria

Abstract

This paper examines the challenges and strategies of service delivery in transport sector for building a New Nigeria. Descriptive and explorative methods were used to investigate the best way to utilize effective service delivery for transport infrastructure. The paper discovered that the challenges of service delivery bothered mainly on poor budgetary allocation, poor maintenance culture, deplorable states of roads, poorly constructed roads. Analysis reveal the strategies for developing road infrastructure to foster service delivery for a new Nigeria were mainly attitudinal change of government behaviour toward equitable development of road infrastructure, financing road construction and commitment to total quality management.
